AboutPat G Expertise I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.
Experience I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.
Education/Credentials I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
Question QUESTION: my friend had a medical abortion 3 yrs back..will theer be an possibilities that it can be known.i mean through any test or something
ANSWER: Hi, Jane,
I won't have long to write before my internet connection goes down, so I'll have to keep it short for now.
According to the expert on which I rely, the answer is no. The only problem is, she knows she had one, and that could mean that eventually this information may come out, especially if she has an emotional reaction. Also, the long term hormonal consequences aren't known.

QUESTION: will there be any possibility to know once you had a medical abortion long back?any medical tests or any thing???
Answer Hi, jane,
They haven't been using pill abortions long enough for anyone to know the answer to that question. One thing they might be able to do to tell is see if there are any of the baby's stem cells near the mother's breasts, and see if the breasts have undergone any development. The stem cells will have different DNA from the mother's breast cells. Pregnancy causes changes in breast cells. In fact, abortion makes a woman more susceptible to breast cancer because of these changes. They would show up under a microscope. So even though we don't really have the experience yet, I would have to say that a doctor would be able to tell by examining breast cells under a microscope. Ordinary miscarriage won't produce the same kind of cells, because it happens as a result of a drop in hormones, or inadequate hormones to begin with, so yes, there will be a way of detecting it, at least in my opinion. But if you are thinking a doctor will be able to tell by examining the uterus, only time will tell; we develop new technology all the time.
If your friend was trying to conceal the fact she had been pregnant by having an abortion, it was a bad idea. I hope this helps.
