AboutPat G Expertise I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of six. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues.
Experience I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.
Education/Credentials I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.

Answer Hi, Sue,
Normally, it is time to worry about not getting pregnant when it has been a year. However, the fact that you have had two abortions means that you may not be able to conceive. The irregular periods don't help. You can see if you are fertile. Go here and learn more:
Even if you are fertile, it still might not mean that you can conceive. If you have scar tissue across the openings to your Fallopian tubes, then you may not be able to get pregnant at all. The other thing to watch for is possible tubal pregnancy. This would happen if there is a small opening in the scar that will let sperm through but isn't big enough for a zygote. If you get pregnant and experience any pain in the area of your Fallopian tubes, especially if it stops suddenly, you will need to get to an emergency room asap.
I would recommend that you see a doctor about the irregularity of your periods. If you are able to determine when you are fertile, that may help.
Another possibility is that because you two don't really have a committed relationship, you may be stressed enough not to ovulate, since you had two abortions. Our bodies can play tricks on us. You should consider getting married. A baby really needs for his parents to be committed to each other.
And another possibility is that you may be getting inadequate nutrition. Did the emotional result of the abortions affect your eating habits? Are you a vegetarian? If you're not getting enough animal fat, you may not be making the necessary hormones.
Is there any sign you have had any kind of infection?
At this point, all I can do is suggest things to look at. But let me know what you find out. Take care!
