Question
Hi San Yi Sheng
I had a surgical abortion on Jan. 16th.  Everything has gone as I was told it would -- however, my husband and I had unprotected sex on Jan. 24th - a week and a day after the procedure.  How likely am I to get pregnant again?  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Jessica,
Why taking that risk ?
I think you were told to put nothing in your vagina the first 3 weeks after the abortion.
Having unprotected sex so early after an abortion could cause a serious infection.
10-12 days after the abortion an ovulation already occurs. So if there is sperm in your vagina
you can become pregnant again. The sperm could survive for a couple of days.
But the chance is very little.
To be absolutely sure do a pregtest in 2 weeks time. These tests stays positive for 3 weeks after the abortion !
Anyway, keep your fingers crossed.
