I had the clinical suction abortion procedure on about Dec.29 2009 it is now Jan.11 2010 the first few days after my abortion was fine, i got lots of rest and was having normal bleeding and then the bleeding slowed to almost a complete stop. On the first of Jan. I had to go to my dorm and remove all of my items from the room (I was moving out of the dorm and in with my parents) and I had to do it by myself, aside from that it was the only day the university would allow for me to move out so I couldn't do it the following week. Some of the the things were pretty heavy and I had to take them up and down stairs even. On the ride home I was in moderate pain in the abdominal area. The next day I began hurting and bleeding a lot. Then the bleeding began turning more brownish and smelling bad but there's not as much of it and I am still having some cramping. Should I go to the doctor for this? I am concerned that I may have hurt myself while removing my stuff from the dorm. What do you think I should do?

Hi Terri,
most bloodloss occurs after the pregnancy hormone leaves the body, about 4-6 days after the abortion.
Its then that the uterus starts cleaning itself and bloodloss is heaviest.
So that has nothing to do with the removal.
I think everything is OK.
No worry & no sex the first 3 weeks.
