Dear Shan,

I am hoping you can help me with the mess i seem to have found myself in!

I had un protected sex for the first time with an ex girlfriend after she had come out of a relationship with someone else. Despite her being on the pill, 2-3 days after she told me that she was pregnant. I understand that home pregnancy tests detect HCG hormone and which takes more than this period to show on a home test. is that correct? could this be mine?

After discovering that she was pregnant she had an abortion 1 week later but iv now found out shes still pregnant.

if i had sex with her a week before an abortion could my sperm fertalise another egg which later attached itself to her uterus after her abortion? could the initial pregnancy be expelled and mine later inpregnate her again?

after the abortion initial home tests showed that it was a success. she later found out that she was still pregnant. can you explain this?

Shes obviously taking the relevant steps to ensure her health etc and has told me that its mine, but i had these qquestions that i need answering because i want to know if it could now be mine??

Yes, this is a mess.
If  your gf had an abortion, and 10 days before that ab you had sex with her, she can NOT be pregnant from you. During pregnancies no other eggs fertilize.
How can she be so sure she is still (or again) pregnant. Home tests 3 days after an abortion ALWAYS are still positive. The pregnancy hormone disappears very slowly form the blood and test become negative after 2 or three weeks.

An other possibility is that she had no abortion at all.
Why would she say that a pregnancy , if any, is yours ?
I think you better have nothing to do anymore with her.
