Question
I have taken the Mifepristone combined with Misoprostol in march 2010. It was followed by bleeding for about a month. After that I have regular periods every month which lasts for 3-4 days but the amount of blood has been reduced in the periods.Does it indicates any kind of problem or precense of pregnancy? As I have regular periods I have not visited any doctor.  Please answer and kindly ask for any information you need to answer my question.

Answer
Hello, Riya,

If you took these pills in March, you're not still pregnant. Why? Because you would have had your baby by now!

These pills are poisonous, and very dangerous. You were lucky all they did was mess up your periods. You need to stay away from them, and never, ever take them again. They can cause you to bleed to death, to develop a deadly infection that kills a woman within hours, to become more likely to get breast cancer or auto-immune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, to develop emotional problems and even become suicidal, or rupture your uterus. These drugs are not supposed to be taken by a pregnant woman, ever.

Obviously, the pills have disturbed the delicate balance of your hormones. The only way you are going to find out exactly what kind of damage they caused is to have a doctor test your hormones. There may be other reasons, however, for the fact that your period is not normal anymore. For example, if you are a vegetarian who never eats anything from animals, you may have a deficiency of some of the fats that make the hormones your body needs. Vegans sometimes stop having a period completely. Also, if you exercise excessively, this could have an effect.

Because of the increased risk of breast cancer, you need to be taking Vitamin D3 supplements and eating vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and other such vegetables. I recommend 5000IU of Vitamin D3 a day. You will need to have your blood tested to make sure you aren't getting too much. Also, do not get mammograms. They can cause or spread breast cancer. Get regular thermograms instead. I don't know if you will be able to get them where you are, but see if you can find a place that will do them.

I hope this helps. Please take care.

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
