Question
Dr Shan i had an medical abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy
its been exactly 2 weeks now.The problem is i am still
bleeding though it is light ..is this what is called
spotting?.
Also mixed with the blood is some thick bits like flesh i
dont know how else to describe it (its quite thick and
brown)..is this normal? and how long does one bleed after a
medical abortion?Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Mimi,
After a medical abortion bleeding patterns are irregular for a prolonged time.
Periods are irregular too. As long as the bloodloss is not to heavy there is nothing to worry. Sometimes there is old blood, dark colored, sometimes clots.
All normal.
Take care, there are no safe days !
If you do not want a baby, always have only safe sex.
Hope this is helpful .
Bye bye for now,
Dr Shan
