Abortion/Trying to get pregnant post abortion

Question
I had to have an abortion on 13th Oct, there was a problem with the foetal growth. We want to try again, some people have told me to start trying now as will be more fertile after abortion, others say wait for body to recover at least 3 months. When is it safe to try again, for my body and the baby? Doctor said no reason future pregnancy should be abnormal. I was 12 weeks.
Thank you

Answer
There is no reason to wait but if you do I always recommend starting to take 1 milligram of Folic Acid and prenatal Vitamins.  I also recommend just having a physical and checking up on your immunizations.  If you have no reason to worry--good diet, no smoking or alcohol then you can start trying.
