Abortion/repeated abortions causing future problems

Question
Hi Shan.  About 15 years ago (when I was 16), I had 3 abortions over a 6 year period, due to being ill, which caused fail contraception.  This is something I am not proud of.  I had 2 medical abortions and 1 surgical abortion.  I am currently 6 weeks pregnant (planned and very much wanted)Would these abortions cause me to have an incomplete cervix, and not be able to carry a child to term?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Alice,
I am doctor Shan.

Medical abortion never causes cervical incompetence.
Surgical abortions could, but very very rarely.
Have your normal pregnancy checks and have an ultrasound made when you are about 20
weeks. Any irregularity can be seen than and measures taken when necessary.
So, no urgent worry !
Hope this answers your question.
