QUESTION: Doctor please help, i had an abortion the 18th Jan, i had unprotected sex before having my periods, conceived again and had another abortion on 19th February. On 12th March i had unprotected sex and took emergency pills after wards, today 23rd March, had a pregnant test which is negative. The question is that i am not seeing my periods and i want to start on contraception;use of injection. Must i wait for the periods before i take the injection since i am not pregnant? I have not given birth before.
Doctor pleese help.

Whats wrong with protected sex ?
After two abortions the periods will be irregular for a couple of months.
You can have the contraception injection to-morrow.
Let your bf use condoms the first month to be more sure.
the 12th march you did not become pregnant. Otherwise the test now should still be positive.

QUESTION: Thank you very much Doctor for my answer, i forgot to tell you that for the last abortion, i used cytotec, could it also have an effect on my system?
The other question is, Must i take the injection today as you said, or i can take it any other day?
You mean my boyfriend has to use condoms even after the injection, even when we are going to have sex next month, he must use condoms.
Doctor please help, i will be more satisfied.

ANSWER: Hi Sylvia,
of course you can have that injection another day. I just do not like you to wait and be unprotected all the time.
Bf should use condoms the first month also with the injection. After that you're are fully protected and condoms only needed if you want to be protected from sexualy transmitted diseases.

QUESTION: Hi Doctor,
I am sorry to disturb you again but something is bothering me, On saturday 27th March i went for the injection-contraception, on sunday afternoon felt stomach pain like that for periods but the blood that came was so light it lasted till monday, last night-tuesday felt the same thing but the blood was thick as though it had clotted particles,in the morning i saw nothing, what is the cause of this and what does it mean, could they have been periods on their way, will the bleeding stop because its on and off, iam scared doctor please help.

good to read that you started contraception !
With this injection bleeding paterns can be changing all the time. Normally with
DepoProvera periods are minimal, but may occur more frequently.
No worry. be happy. But bf MUST take condoms the first month, right ?
