QUESTION: hello...well i am currently staying in Netherlands as an au pair i have a residents permit for one year.i fear i might be pregnant and want to know what are the procedures i will have to go through to abort and the costs behind it all.could you advise me on places i could go and what to do.im really stressed and i cant have a baby here please help...

ANSWER: Hi Lauren,

Netherlands is not a difficult country for abortion.

If you are a resident and longer than 3 months in Holland,
abortion is free.
Contact Dr Chita Reymer, who works in different clinics and can tell you where
to go.

QUESTION: hello dr well im not sure if you can help me with this...i want to go on a birth control pill...i am an au pair and i do not want to go to the families doctor is there any other way i can obtain this without going to the doctor.thank you lauren

Hi Lauren,
try  any farmacy first. Some will just sell you the pill.Tell them that you used Yasmin in the country
where you come from (sorry, I forgot) and I do not think they will ask for a prescription.
If they refuse, try another.
If you do not succeed you may go to any 'huisarts' . They will ask some questions but will respect your privacy.
Some will do some superficial exams, bloodpressure and bla bla.
No worry, this is an easy country.
But another question is why you want to have sex as an aupair. Is this a serious relation ? Just answer
yourself.
