Question
i did take cytotec foe 3 days 4 each day 2 oral and 2 vaginal, i did bleed a little at the first day but than nothing happens.i was 5 weeks pregnant but now i took a test and it was positive i still pregnant .my baby will born with problems ?

Answer
Hello, raysa,

I spent some time trying to get a clear answer to your question. I am aware that there is a chance it caused a problem with your baby. However, nobody seems to know how frequent it is. How long ago did you take it? Were you 5 weeks from conception, or from your last menstrual period? Sometimes pregnancy hormones decline slowly, and a woman will still get a positive pregnancy test. How long after you took these pills did you test for pregnancy?

I hoped to find an organization near you where you could get a recommendation for a doctor who can help you. There is no such organization in Aruba or in Netherlands Antilles. The closest one, it would appear, is in Venezuela. You can find one there by going to this web site:

http://heartbeatservices.org/index.php/connections/worldwide-directory

If this is not an option, you can contact your local Catholic church and ask them to help you find a doctor.

You really need to consult a doctor about your situation.

Please keep in mind that taking Cytotec is very dangerous, and can kill you. And it is far more likely to kill you if you take it vaginally. Please don't take this drug. The manufacturer specifically says a pregnant woman should NOT take it. It is intended for stomach ulcers.

Find a decent doctor, and let him advise you. Please let me know how things go.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
