Answer
Hello, George,

First, how do you know the woman is pregnant? Did she take a pregnancy test? If she's not pregnant, then taking pills would cause a risk for no good reason. Second, it may not work. A lot of times, the pills don't work during this time. But even more important, it's dangerous and can cause a woman to die very quickly. Yes, hemorrhage is a definite possibility. Pills are causing women to bleed to death. Only a foolish person would even take such a powerful medication at home. If there are any complications, she's on her own.

There are two kinds of pills people sometimes take, and the manufacturer says one of them should never be taken by a pregnant woman. Not only can the woman bleed to death, but she can get toxic shock syndrome, which kills within hours once symptoms start. I know of no treatment that will save her life. These pills can also cause a woman's uterus to rupture. If a woman has never had children, having an abortion also greatly increases the chance she will develop breast cancer, and this form kills 1/4 of its victims.

Is it the case that the woman doesn't know English? If she does, why are you asking the questions? If she is carrying your child, then you owe it to her to protect her from abortion. She deserves better.

Kuwait is a difficult situation. I know of no organizations there that help pregnant women with whatever problems they face. And if there are religious or social problems, this can be serious as well. In such a case, I recommend that a woman should go to a country where she will be safe, and have her baby. If necessary, she can place her baby for adoption.

Is the reason for considering abortion because you are afraid she is too old, and might have a child with a birth defect? The odds are still very much in favor of her having a normal child. Perhaps the problem most feared is Down Syndrome. Even young women can have a child with Down Syndrome. The odds are greater when a woman is older, but they are never zero. Down Syndrome seems like a horrible thing to a lot of people. However, I have a nephew with Down Syndrome, and I can tell you that he is a huge blessing. People have no idea what they are throwing away when they kill an unborn baby with Down Syndrome. I can talk more about this is this is a concern.

Please don't let this woman get an abortion. Not only can it kill her, but it can also cause serious health problems if she lives. Abortion is ALWAYS dangerous. Our bodies were designed to protect our children, and the only way an abortion can be done is to harm our bodies. There are better answers.

Please let me know more, and feel free to ask more questions. Please take care of this woman and keep her safe. Let me know what happens.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
