Answer
Hello, Vijayalakshmi,

The "gynecologist" who gave you those pills is both incompetent and unethical. You should have nothing further to do with her! First of all, this person should never have given you medications without checking to see if a miscarriage might be likely. Second, the pills are unlikely to work in your set of circumstances. This shows incompetence. If a miscarriage were likely, you wouldn't have to do anything.

The person is also acting unethically because the manufacturer of misoprostol said that this medicine should NEVER be used by a pregnant woman. The reason is because it can kill a woman in several ways, and in some cases, it only takes a few hours. Giving you a medication the manufacturer says a pregnant woman should never take is both incompetent and unethical. The person has the duty to read the information about the drug and to heed its warning. This person obviously did neither. The pharmaceutical house that sold the medication to this person also acted unethically. Most likely, it was Cipla. I have written to them about this, and they ignored me. They don't care. They just want your money. Not only that, but the instructions they give for using the pills is the MOST dangerous way to use them.

There are women bleeding to death in India because they took these pills. These pills can also cause a woman's uterus to rupture, and can cause a deadly infection called Toxic Shock Syndrome. This kills a woman within hours. It is caused by Clostridium sordellii. If you took misoprostol vaginally, you NEED to be tested for Clostridium sordellii, because if you have this in your body, you are at risk of dying of this infection. By the time there are symptoms, it is almost certainly too late to save your life. If they find out before symptoms appear, I don't know if they can even save your life then. But the sooner you know, the better.

Having an abortion is a very bad idea. If the abortion kills you, who will take care of your baby of 5 months? Don't worry about the two children being so close together. It's not a problem. I have two children who are only 14 months apart, and when they were both tiny, they were very close. We'd put our son to bed, and our daughter would climb into his crib and put her arm around him, and they would sleep that way.

You need to find a decent doctor. The "gynecologist" has repudiated medical ethics and isn't even technically a doctor at all. She has violated her oath. Find a doctor who will treat both you and your baby as her patients. Abortion is ALWAYS harmful, and the dangers are very, very great. Please don't even consider this. The timing may not be the best in the world, but your new baby is depending on you for your love and protection. If you are not willing to protect this tiny one, it will come back to haunt you, and make it difficult for you to be a good mother to your older child. Find a good doctor and ask him or her to test you for Clostridium sordellii. And don't think of risking your life any further. Please take care of yourself and stay safe. Let me know how you do.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
