QUESTION: i just had an abortion last Tuesday the 30/3/10. a have only had a slight bit of bleeding. also i have been suffering with pains in my chest which are real sore,i am really worried about these pains in my chest and have been looking up all sorts of things to see if there is anything wrong with me and i wanted to no is there?,also i did a pregnancy test yesterday the 5/4/10 and says im still pregnant, i am so worried that i am and i don't no what to be doing. i just want to make sure that the hole surgical abortion went right for me. i was wondering if you can tell me what i can do?

the pregtest stays positive until 3 weeks after the abortion.
How many weeks was your pregnancy ?
Was it a pill termination or surgery ?

Hi Donna,

I think you had a little long embolus. This is a very rare complication is which some blood from your operationfield  came into the bloodcirculation and stuck in your lungs, which caused the chestpain.
This condition can be dangerous, but with you it caused just some pain. Normally it will disappear by itself.
I understand that this pain is already gone now.
So this does not mean that the abortion itself was not performed well.
