Question
I had an abortion 12 days ago and my pregnancy test is still positive. Is it possible to fall pregnant even when there is left over HCG in my system? I started by tring the medical termination, but after the second dose of misoprostol it still didn't work :( Had to have a surgical weeks later when I found out after an ultrasound.
Hi Mel,
after any abortion the pregtest stays positive for 3 weeks as pregnancy hormones leave the body slowly.
It is not wise to try to get pregnant within two month after an abortion. Give the Uterus time to heal.
There is no need for more medication at this moment. Just be patient and if you do not have unprotected sex, nothing goes wrong.
