I had an abortion over three years ago, off and on since then i have had abdominal pain. For the first two and a half years it was more off then on but within the past 6 months it has gotten alot worse!! When i do get the abdominal pain it is terrible. I have had a pelvic ultra sound done and it came back okay along with a KUB which has also came back okay? Also 2 years ago i had a c-section when i had my son. Do you think this abdominal pain has anything to do with my abortion 3 years ago or the c-section? And do you have any suggestions on what it may be or what else i may be able to suggest to my family doctor?
Thanks,
CK
Answer Hello, CK,
Well, there are three things that come to mind immediately that can cause pain. One is adhesions. This happens when a person has surgery, and damaged tissues then touch and grow together. These can happen after either surgical abortion or a Caesarian section. The other two are pelvic inflammatory disease and fibroids. A woman can also get a sexually transmitted disease from a surgical abortion, because many abortionists don't sterilize their instruments properly, if at all, so a woman can get an infection from a previous client. There may be other possibilities. Keep asking your doctor questions. If he can't come up with any more ideas, then seek a second opinion. I hope he is able to find the answers. Good luck, and please take care. Let me know what you find out.
I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.
Experience
I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.
Education/Credentials I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
