Question
I had a miscarriage last march 15 when i was 3 weeks and i haven't had my period since. It's been almost 2 months but still there is no sign. After the miscarriage i lost all pregnancy symptoms and i was doing well for a month, nothing painful. I went swimming on the beach and swimming pool, i forgot i wasn't supposed to until i fully heal. then a week after my breasts start to feel a bit painful again similar to when i was pregnant, but i didn't have intercourse. I had protected sex the week after. And I've been having this vaginal discharge lately, pale yellow and sticky. Is this normal? my breast have been painful for almost a month now. What are the chances I'm pregnant again? there's no lower abdominal pain and fatigue, no bloating, just the discharge, no period and painful breasts. Hope you can help, thank you!

Answer
Hello, Queenie,

If you suspect pregnancy, you should take a pregnancy test. As for the specific symptoms, one thing you need to know is why you had the miscarriage. Is there a possibility that you were carrying two babies but only lost one? What symptoms of miscarriage did you have? By the way, there is no such thing as protected sex. That's a huge lie. When you use things like condoms, you are running a serious risk of becoming pregnant. Condoms may delay it awhile, but that's the most they will do. The discharge, pale yellow and sticky, is probably nonfertile mucus, but if you are concerned, ask the doctor about it. He might want to make sure you don't have an infection.

So my best suggestion is that you go to a doctor and have him check you, test you, take a medical history, and so forth, and then he can advise you and set your mind at ease.

If you are pregnant, please don't have an abortion. Abortion is dangerous and can kill you. It can cause all sorts of other kinds of damage as well. There are organizations in the Philippines that are ready to help you with whatever problems you face. You can find one near you by going to this web site:

http://heartbeatservices.org/index.php/connections/worldwide-directory

Most of these organizations also offer free pregnancy tests, and some offer free ultrasound. They can also recommend a good doctor, one you can trust. Don't trust anyone who does abortions or thinks they are acceptable.

Let me know if you have any other questions, and please take care and stay safe!

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
