Question
how many weeks id it till you can have a pill abortion ?

Answer
Hello, demi,

You seem to be aware of one thing: that the window during which a pill abortion will work is very narrow.

That said, pill abortions are nasty and dangerous. A pill abortion could kill you. There are several ways: bleeding to death, rupturing the uterus, or toxic shock syndrome. The manufacturer of one of the medications says specifically that a pregnant woman should never take it because it is so dangerous. Any health professional who would give you this medication is committing malpractice. And there is always the chance that instead of killing the mother, it will cause a horrible birth defect in the baby. If that weren't enough, pill abortions can be excruciatingly painful, and if a woman has a complication, she doesn't have access to medical care; she's on her own.

Surgical abortion is also very dangerous, and can kill you.

The list of complications possible with either is very, very long. And you would be at risk for decades afterward, no matter how the abortion is done. Abortion can cause a woman to get breast cancer, and this form of breast cancer kills 1/4 of its victims. It doesn't matter what type of abortion it is. This risk still exists.

You are asking me to give you information that could help you harm or kill yourself, and I'm not going to do that. Please find a better answer. You deserve better. I am here for you if you want to discuss your circumstances and why you think abortion is an acceptable answer. There are also counseling and other kinds of help available from an organization near you. To find this, please go to this web site:

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
