QUESTION: Dear Dr.

I have a surgical abortion (D&C) 26th of May I bled upto 29th then the bleeding stops on the 31st of May I bleed again for 7 days i think its my period? because I usually having my period for 7 days
and 2 weeks after the D&C i noticed that i have this increase in vaginal discharge i much more than usual( i think excessive)? its color is white without any foul odor or pain and itchyness,

is this discharge i have is normal after abortion?

and that bleeding on the 31st of may can possibly my period?

ANSWER: Hi Shane Cruz,

No, that bleeding was no period.

The vaginal discharge is caused by yeasts or fungi. E.g: Pseudomonas. The normal bacteries are
killed by the desinfectants used during the D&C.
What to do ? 1st: No washing with soap, just plain water outside. 2nd: put nothing in your vagina until
the discharge is gone. So no vaginal shower, no sex, no nada.
By the way: Have no unprotected sex as there are no safe days the first couple of weeks after an abortion.

QUESTION: Dear Dr Shan,
today 25th of june a day before 1 month after my abortion,
the discharge was lessen and it turn now yellowish .

another thing after the procedure, my breast got smaller but the left one was not that noticeable that its gotten small almost the same after. Now, the are not even the left is bigger than the right, what about that?

and before the procedure i have increase on appetite but subside after the procedure now after 4 weeks i am like having that again.

i feel like i am pregnant again after 4 weeks. i don't have sex after procedure.
what can this be? it can be a sign that i will have my period soon? or what?

Hi Shane Cruz,

Turning yellowish means that this is old discharge. No washing with soap and it will disappear after the next period.
Breastsize changes around the onset of pregnancy and after the abortion again. It depends on the pregnancy hormone levels in the blood. Nothing can be said about it in advance. It is very personal. The feeling of pregnancy
again means that your period is coming soon.
