Answer
Hello, Sujata,

I don't know why a pharmacist is prescribing. Doctors are supposed to do that. And not only that, but pharmacists take an oath similar to that of a doctor, which includes the concept that he should first do no harm. Giving you those pills violates that oath.

There are some really dangerous drugs coming out of India. They can kill a woman. Sometimes it only takes hours. They don't cause a period to come normally. One reason women die after taking these pills is that they bleed to death. They can also cause a woman to get an infection that will kill her within hours. Or, they can rupture her uterus. If the pills cause an abortion, they make a woman much more likely to get a particularly deadly form of breast cancer. It kills 1/4 of its victims, and it can strike a woman while she is still young, such as when she is in her 30's or even earlier.

You should NOT take these pills. Seriously. You deserve better. It's not worth risking your life.

You haven't told me some important things. One is, how long ago did you have sex with your boyfriend? Taking an emergency contraceptive will disrupt a woman's hormones, and can possibly prevent her from having a period when she otherwise might have one. So the fact you're not having a period doesn't necessarily mean you are pregnant. So please let me know the answer to this question, so I can better inform you.

There is help available for you, if you are pregnant. There are all kinds of services available in most countries. You haven't told me what country you are in. If you do, I may be able to find an organization that offers this help in your area.

Please take care of yourself and stay safe! Let me know how you do.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
