Answer
Hello, Rachel,

Are you currently in Norway?

You are way too far along in pregnancy for RU486 to work. It simply won't accomplish what you want. So there's no point in buying it or taking it. RU486 rarely works past seven weeks or so anyway.

There are organizations that can help you with whatever problems you are facing, whether you are in Norway or South Africa. To find one near you, please go to this web site:

Don't let your parents put any pressure on you. They don't have any right to do that. Ask them if they want to pay for the medical complications if you have an abortion and get hurt. It can run into a lot of money. Abortion is never safe, but by the time you reach 13 weeks, it is a lot more dangerous. It could kill you or cause you to become seriously disabled. Your parents are upset, like I'm sure you were. Give them time. Most parents become supportive in the long run. I can tell you from personal experience, and also from talking to other women, that parents usually love their grandchildren very much. I have two grandchildren who were born out of wedlock, and I love them very, very much. They're no different from my other nine. It's not their fault that their parents aren't married. Just stand up to your parents. These organizations can help you deal with the issue of parents who are putting pressure on young women. You deserve better, and you also deserve to meet your baby through ultrasound.

I would NEVER ask any of my children to risk their life to have an abortion.

Let me know if there are specific problems I can help you with. Please take care of yourself and stay safe.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
