Question
Hi,Abortion is illegal in my country but I found a doctor that tested me and told me that I was pregnant, I told him I wanted an abortion and he inserted 2 cytotec 200mg pills vaginally and told me to take 4 when I get home and 4 the hour after I took the first four.. after following all instructions.. I felt extreme cramps periodically and very light bleeding the first 2 days. Today is the third day and I am still experiencing cramps and  light bleeding but heavier than the first two days of bleeding. Does this sound like a successful abortion? What else do I need to look forward to ?

Answer
Hello, Mary,

Abortion is NOT illegal in the United States. However, in countries where it is illegal, there's more than one reason. Another reason is to protect women from unscrupulous abortionists. As you shall see from what I am telling you below, this protection is very much needed, and you really deserve to be protected. Putting Cytotec in a woman's vagina IS illegal in the United States, however.

You didn't say how far along you were when you started with the pills. This is important. I can't really tell you much until you let me know.

This man put your life at risk. Inserting Cytotec vaginally can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. That is an infection that will kill a woman within hours. You are still very much in danger. You need to be tested IMMEDIATELY for Clostridium sordellii, and if they find it, they need to start aggressive treatment to save your life. I don't even know if it will work. All I know is that if you wait for symptoms to start, they probably can't save your life. This man committed malpractice. The manufacturer of Cytotec says it should NEVER be given to a pregnant woman by ANY route. THEY don't want to get sued if Cytotec kills a woman or seriously hurts her.

It's not clear that what he did will cause you to have an abortion, either. Usually, they give different medication first. Another thing that worries me is that he told you that you were pregnant, and he stood to sell you some expensive medications by telling you that. Sometimes some of these people will do an abortion on a woman who isn't even pregnant. And sometimes when they just give Cytotec, instead of aborting, a woman will have a child with some serious birth defects. I don't know how common this is, I just know that it happens.

As for what else you have to look forward to, there is one other likely possibility, and that is very heavy bleeding. Some women even bleed to death. You need to make sure you have some cayenne on hand, and you should be taking it. Cayenne is red hot peppers. You can get it as a supplement, or you can get it in food. You need to do this regularly until all bleeding stops.

I am guessing this is your first pregnancy. If the abortion is successful, you are much more likely to have breast cancer in the future, and the kind of breast cancer kills 1/4 of its victims. It tends to strike while a woman is still young, such as in her 30's. If a woman has a close relative who has had breast cancer, getting it yourself would be a virtual certainty. You will need to be tested regularly with a thermogram. Do not get a mammogram. These tend to spread the cancer. As a preventative, I urge you to make sure you have adequate Vitamin D in your blood. Most people don't. You can supplement with up to 5000 units of Vitamin D3, but you will need to have your blood tested to make sure you're not getting too much. I also recommend Resveratrol.

When you tell me how far along you were, I can tell you more, so please let me know. PLEASE don't take any more chances with your life! If you let me know what country you are from, I can probably tell you where you can get some real help. You can write privately if you want. But you are going to need immediate medical attention because of putting Cytotec in your vagina. Like I said, your life is at stake.

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
