Answer
Hello, neha,

It sound like you were injured. Abortion ALWAYS damages a woman's body, but what you are describing does not sound like the way it's supposed to be. You need to seek immediate medical care. It could be urgent. I also don't like the way you reacted to the anesthetic.

What worries me is that your uterus may have been perforated, or seriously damaged in some other way. It is customary to damage the surface of the uterus. They scrape away the lining and cut away the placenta. But they're not suppose to perforate anything. They're operating blind with a very sharp instrument on some very soft tissue, and they work fast. This kind of injury is far too common, unfortunately. It also worries me that you could bleed to death or experience a hemorrhage. So PLEASE go see a doctor immediately. Don't go back to the person who did the abortion. That person cannot be trusted, has poor medical judgment, and won't want to admit he hurt you. Find someone who believes abortion is unethical. He will have good medical judgment and will take good care of you. I don't have a really good way to help you find a good doctor, but what I recommend is that you talk to a local Catholic church and ask them to recommend someone. There are a few large cities in the southern portion of India where there are organizations, but there aren't many. Let me know what part of India you live in, and if you are unable to find anyone, I'll see what I can do.

Please take care of yourself. I will pray for you. Let me know how you do.

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
