Abortion/Experienced nothing after taking Mifepristone(600mg)

Question
First day of my last period was July 23rd, 2010. I had sex that day, also, on 31st July and on 2nd August. I took iPill on 5th August, which didnt work.

I missed my period cycle, and I felt all the pregnancy symptoms, so I went for test on 30th August. Test result was positive (hCG level > 50 mIU/ml). Test Method used was Immunochromatography.

Country where I live in, doesn't permit abortion, so doctors wont be able to help me with it. So I thought of going for Medical Abortion.

Also, giving birth to child without marriage is not an option here. I live in a typical muslim country, where they don't even permit premarital sex. So abortion is my only option.

Now, my questions are:

1. I took 3 pills of Mifepristone on 1st September, and experienced nothing since then. No cramping, no bleeding nothing at all. Whats happening? Am I still pregnanat?

2. Someone told me that > If you were not pregnant, the mifepristone would not do anything. Does that refer I have an ectopic pregnancy?

2. I read horrific stories abt the pill misoprostol, and considering not to take it. I found a doctor who might be able to do the abortion surgically, but not until 15th september (she is on vacation). I want to wait. Is it too late to switch to surgical abortion from medical abortion?

Please help me, I am too confused. And I cant help but wonder why I didnt felt anything after taking the first dosage.

Answer
Dear Pat,

I just saw your question in the question pool at allexperts.com
This means that whoever you asked your question to was not able to answer for some reason. So I am going to try to answer.

First of all, has anything further happened since you posted your question a few days ago?

I urge you to join the unplanned pregnancy group so you can talk to other women about this problem http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unplanned_pregnancy_help/

I would not advise you to do a medical abortion as these medications can be dangerous to your health and life-threatening. Also, surgical abortion is not recommended either. If you have taken the medication, I don't know about your options. I don't know why the medication would not work after the dosage but I am glad you are still in good health.

Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so we can discuss options. I might be able to find a pregnancy center in your area to help you.
Hope to hear from you soon.
