Abortion/Post-Abortion

Question
I had an abortion a little over a year ago. Before I got pregnant, my periods were like clock work. I always knew when it was coming and how long it would stay. Now, most of the time I spot a few days before my period, bleed good for about 3 days, and sometimes have a 28-30 day cycle(but not all the time). Is there a reason why my periods have changed? I didn't go back for a check-up and still need to get a pap smear. Also, Do you know of any books that help with post-abortion with a non-religious point of view? Thank You.

Answer
Hi Beth,

I found your question in the question "pool" at allexperts.com
This means that whoever you asked your question to, was unable to help you so your question was put in a "pool" so someone else could answer. So that's me.

I'm not sure what to tell you about you period change. You probably should go to a doctor and should have gone back for the post abortion checkup but it's too late for that now. But it still might benefit you to have a checkup now. And the pap smear. When is the last time you went to a doctor?

Also, I found this website but it may have religous aspects. Here is the link Do people have to believe in God to benefit from post-abortion counseling http://www.afterabortion.org/hope/arti10.htm

http://www.afterabortion.com/ I don't think this one is "religious"
