Answer
Hello, Uxr,

These drugs are on the market largely because the companies want to make money, and these drugs sell. They don't care whether women die. I realize that being unmarried is a problem. And I also think it is possible her family would kill her, especially if her family is Muslim. As for suicide, women are more likely to commit suicide if they have an abortion than if they stay pregnant, about eight times more likely.

I haven't used prega news, so I can't tell you. Most pregnancy tests will tell by the time a woman is between 5 and 6 weeks from her last menstrual period.

Here is an organization near her. She should contact them, and talk to them, and see what her options are.

Catholic Hospital Association
Ashok Pl
New Delhi  110 001
India

Here is a place she may be able to stay, until her baby is born. If she then puts her child up for adoption, she can go back home and she doesn't have to reveal her pregnancy to anyone she doesn't want to.

St Michael's Home
Indiranagar
Bangalore  560 035
India
Phone:    542811

Keep in mind, however, that if she has a complication from the drugs, people WILL find out. Does she even have the money to pay for the medical care she would need? Remember, some of these complications can seriously, seriously injure a woman, or even kill her.

I realize this isn't what you want to hear, but I care enough about her that I will not recommend something that harmful. Please take care of her. Help her find a better answer. I will be here anytime you need to talk.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
