Abortion/Post Abortion Bleeding

Question
Hi,
I had Mifegest kit on 11th December 2010 and the bleeding started on 13th December 2010. Initially it was in form of big clots (size of a peach) but later reduced to less flow which was brown in color, similar to the flow I have on 4th day of my regular period. My concern is that my period hasnt stopped till then and I am having the brown discharge since then.
Yesterday the flow increased and I am now having discharge which is red and also contains white tissue particles. Has my placenta wall reformed (considering that the flow never stopped) so that I am now having my regular period post abortion?
I didnt have any syptoms of fever, dizziness or cramping. Please suggest whether this is normal?

Answer
Hello, shini,

Unfortunately, women are bleeding to death in India after taking those pills. This is serious, and you need to stop the bleeding. One thing you can try is to make sure and get food with cayenne (red hot peppers) in it, or take a supplement. You should eat this on a regular basis.

You should also see a doctor. You are bleeding far too much, and this will weaken you, and lower your immunity.

If the abortion was successful, you won't have a placenta anymore. It sounds like possibly you are having a period. But the bleeding after taking the pills is erratic and can increase to dangerous proportions quickly.

These pills are dangerous. Please do not ever take them again.

I wish I could tell you more, but at this point, only a person who can examine and test you can tell you for sure what is going on.  Please take care. Let me know how you do.

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
