Answer
Hello, Aneeka,

Brown blood is old blood. It doesn't worry me a lot. However, since you had sex, there IS a possibility you are pregnant again. There is no such thing as "protected sex". Condoms are prone to failure. I recommend you find a decent doctor and get some answers. There are organizations all over the United States that offer help to women in your position. You can find one near you by going to this web site:

http://www.optionline.org/

The link to the lists is on the right.

Please ask them to help you make contact with a doctor who can help you. If you are pregnant, they can help you with whatever problems you face. Abortion is dangerous. The kind of bleeding you experienced can cause you to bleed to death. It greatly weakens your body and makes you much more prone to infection as well.

If you don't want to have the fear of pregnancy, you should stop having sex. If you are married, you should get help instead of an abortion. You need to make sure you don't get into a cycle of getting repeat abortions, because each abortion will do more damage to your body. Abortion can also harm your future children. So please don't consider it again. Get the help you need from a decent doctor. Don't have anything further to do with whomever supplied your abortion. They cannot be trusted.

Please go to your local organization and then let me know what happens. Take care.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
