Question
QUESTION: Okay, i had an abortion on the 1st septermber 11'
i had bleeding for 10 days blood clots, stomach pains etc.. the Nurse told me that my period should come within 4-6 weeks but today is the 8th week and its not come..(they put an implant in my arm after abortion) ive been having blood now and then, and little brown bits i dont know what the hell they are, but no pains... do you think its not coming back because of the implant? Also around the 3rd october i had blood but just for a day i thought it was a period but didnt last. i also had sexual intercourse on the 8th october so could i be pregnant even though i have the Implant.. ? HELPPPP..! :(

ANSWER: Hello, fifi,

While I can't tell you absolutely that the implant is to blame for your lack of a period, it is the most likely possibility. The chance you are pregnant with the implant is much smaller.

You are taking a lot of toxic drugs, and you really deserve better. First, the abortion, and then the implant. They're not even supposed to give the abortion pills to a pregnant woman, because they can kill her. We don't know what effect they will have on a woman's future children. The implants overwhelm a woman's delicately balanced hormonal system. There can be all kinds of consequences from that. You deserve to be free of the fear of abortion. If you are not married, the ONLY way that is foolproof is abstinence. Your partner doesn't have to deal with the consequences; you do. Please give this some thought.

So I think that for the moment you probably are not pregnant. But please think about the long term consequences of what you are doing. Please take care.

QUESTION: Thanks for your message, i actually wasnt told anything when i went in to have the Scan, she just said everything was fine, they asked me if i wanted to speak to someone about Abortion so i Gave it a thought.. once i got in that room the nurse told me that i had 99% chance of losing the baby because something wasnt connected to it properly, so i just had the abortion.. but before you go in the room they ask you what kind of contreception you want n she told me it was the best one, what do you suggest i do shall i have it removed do you think my periods will come back to normal, also its been 2 month and i still have leaking?
this is just so confusing i really dont know what to do anymore.

Answer
Hello, fifi,

You're welcome.

It sounds like you weren't given good medical advice. If you were destined to lose the baby anyway, there was no reason to do an abortion on you. Losing the baby naturally is a lot safer for you! They didn't really KNOW that you would lose the baby, and they didn't give you a chance. They sold you an abortion.

I think you need to find a decent doctor. Don't listen to people who cause that kind of harm. Find a doctor who operates ethically. Abortion is not ethical. It is not safe.

The best way to be guaranteed that you won't have to live in fear of pregnancy is to abstain. No other method is completely reliable. If you do have it removed, it will probably take several months for your body to return to normal, but it should. If not, you can ask the doctor to try to find out why.

To find a decent doctor, find an organization in your area that can give you a referral. There is a list of organizations here:

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
