Question
I had a medical abortion, taking the last set of pills on Jan. 6, it was successful. If I conceived two weeks after having this successful abortion (around Jan. 17-19), would I have the possibilities of birth defects due to the chemicals that were in my body from the Jan. 6 abortion? Could the chemicals have affected my eggs? And how long would you recommend we wait until trying to conceive again?

Answer
Hi Dear Deedee,

It is better to wait at least two normal periods before trying to get pregnant again.
The uterus has to relax and heal after the abortion.
The used chemicals have left your body already and your "eggs" are not disturbed though.
Does that answer your question ?
Bests,
