Question
Hi I had an abortion last year on November 19th and had bleeding after until December 13th when I began having unprotected sex again with my fiance. My period began January 5th and I had light bleeding/spotting (some sex here and there) until January 19th when the spotting stopped. I've been havin uprotected sex regularly since then and my period was due to start February 2nd but today is the 21st and it hasn't started yet. I took a home pregnancy test on February 10th and it was negative. What's going on? Did I miss my period because I bled so much last month or can I be pregnant and its just not detected yet? When I had the abortion last year, I didn't know I was pregnant until I was already 13 weeks, I had no symptoms at all except one abnormal period. Could this be the case again?

Answer
If you have been having unprotected intercourse you could be in the early stage of pregnancy.  You can take another test now.  If it is negative then you are not pregnant.  You should go on a reliable contraceptive method to decrease your stress.  There are so many alternatives now.  The new low dose pills (Lo Loestrin and Loestrin), the ring and the IUD.
