Abortion/Unable to eat

Question
Pat, i am 19  and i have taken Mifeprestone and am about to take misoprostal tonight. Throughout these days, i have been unable to eat, and all i did was sleep. The bleeding has started but the flow is not continuous yet. I experience morning sickness and nausea throughout the day. Please help.

Answer
Hello, Evayne,

For the morning sickness, sip ginger tea or ginger ale. Once you have it under control, make sure you get enough protein and vitamins.

You didn't say how far along you are. This is important, because the pills will only "work" in a very narrow span of time.

Please do NOT take Misoprostol! It is poisonous to a pregnant woman and can kill you. It can cause you to bleed to death, or to get a massive infection that will kill you within hours. This is more likely to happen if it is taken in the vagina, but can happen if it is taken orally as well. It can cause your uterus to rupture. The manufacturer says a pregnant woman should NEVER take it.

Please find a decent doctor, and go to him immediately! You didn't say what country you are in. There are organizations in many countries that will help pregnant women. They have relationships with decent doctors. A doctor who thinks abortion is acceptable has poor medical judgment. Abortion is not only very dangerous, but it is unethical. Find one who doesn't think abortion is acceptable. Please. Please do this NOW.

I'd like to talk to you more when you have seen the doctor, but I don't want you to take your time reading my message now. Go to the doctor. Please take care, and don't take any more poisonous pills.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
