Abortion/Weight Gain After Medical Termination

Question
Hi,
I had a medical termination in October 2010. I have gained nearly 20 pounds since. I have been eating healthy and exercising and the weight gain continues. Is it possible that my hormone levels are still high and the cause for the weight gain?

Answer
The weight gain could be due to other conditions and not the abortion.  You should have a physical examination to check your thyroid hormone levels.  Also, calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI). If it is greater than 25 then you should be concerned but otherwise look at the type of exercise and what you mean by healthy eating.
This is a BMI calculator.
