Abortion/conceiving and carrying full term after abortion

Question
I had a surgical abortion 10 years ago in 2001. I was 7 weeks along.  I had no complications following the procedure. My question is - will I be able to conceive now and will I be at higher risk for miscarriage because of my abortion? I am now married and we'd like to start our family but I am plagued with the fear of never being able to become pregnant as a result of electing surgical abortion. Are there any reasons why a surgical abortion would effect future pregnancies? Thank you for answering.

Answer
Hi dear Felicia,
If you have regular periods, and a fertile man, there is no reason to worry.
I know the horror stories the anti's want to trouble you with in the US,
(like " the expert " Pat. G. on this list) but in most parts of the civilized world we are sure
that a surgical ab. in an early  state does no harm at all.

Enjoy life and get as many kids as you want.
CiaO,
Dr Shan
