Hi, i had an abortion over a week ago now an had unprotected sex the other night with my partner, i wanted to know if i will have to take the morning after pill because i'm worried. I have got the contreceptive pill if i started taking that      now would it be effective?                                                                                                  Thanks

Answer
If it is within 72 hours you can take Plan B now.  It can be effective up to 5 days.  You should start the pill the following night.  You should use condoms for 2 weeks.  It is recommended to use condoms for at least 2 weeks after a surgical abortion to cut down on the risk of infection.  Some facilities say 6 weeks.
