Abortion/Elective vs Spontaneous abortion

Question
I am 5 days post an elective abortion and just received a job offer for which I have to complete a physical for tomorrow.  I have not yet mentally coped with my experience and I am extremely nervous about having to share this information with the physician tomorrow.  Do I have to volunteer the fact that I had an elective abortion to him? Can I simply state that I had a D&C performed last week? Being that this abortion is extremely private and personal to me, I am very apprehensive about having to share this information so soon.  I guess all in all, can doctors tell the difference between an elective and spontaneous abortion? What is the minimum that I can tell him without blatantly saying I chose to have this abortion?

Answer
Hi Kim,

I just got your question. I think you can say whatever you want to share. I'm not sure that a doctor would even be able to tell if you had an abortion. I don't know why a job offer would require a physical. And I'm not even sure what they will check but perhaps it won't be an in-depth checkup. Let me know what happens. If you are having any symptoms of post abortion depression, please let me know. I offer free counseling for post abortion symptoms. Feel free to email me privately at CHERYL51@aol.com Hope to hear from you soon.
