Answer
Hello, carolyn,

There is some important information missing. What kind of abortion? Did you measure from your last menstrual period or the probable date of conception?

Obviously, if you keep having sex, you are likely to get pregnant again. That said, it's unlikely that you are experiencing a new pregnancy that will raise your hCG this soon after the abortion. Not impossible, especially if you would have miscarried naturally, but unlikely. There is also the possibility that the abortion didn't "work".

The mere fact that you don't have any symptoms does NOT mean you didn't get an infection. Some infections, such as the kind that cause pelvic inflammatory disease, can be silent. They can cause you problems later.

If you don't want to be afraid of pregnancy, you should stop having sex. It's the only way to be sure. Even "protection" often fails. If you are married, you should learn how to tell when you are fertile. Abortion ALWAYS causes damage. It will often be years before a woman finds out how much. For one thing, abortion can cause breast cancer. I recommend you get Vitamin D3 daily. A good dose is 5000IU. You will need to be tested periodically to make sure you don't have too much in your blood. You should also get regular thermograms. Don't get mammograms. They can cause or spread breast cancer.

Try to take it easy. I know that's difficult. If you are pregnant again, please don't have another abortion. In addition to the things I have already mentioned, abortion can kill you or harm your future children. There are better answers, and there is help available all over the United States. Please stay safe!

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
