Abortion/surgical abortion

Question
I had a surgical abortion in Dec. I bleed "light-normal" right after and then had my first period in january. That one seemed my usual lighter and controlled flow. In February when I got my period, i had to go to the ER. I was bleeding profusely and passing very large clots. It seemed to subside but then it came back as lightly spotting and light flow. I am now on day 14 of my period (which it is usually 4-6 days) and occasionally passing small-medium sized clots.

I was put on the nuvaring the sunday after the abortion. I am wondering if the hormones could be altering the "healing" of the procedure. I have been in an out of the doctor for this issue. I have no trace of pregnancy hormones,  no trace of infection, and they find it odd that I am only now having issues.

The surgical hysteroscopy has been suggested. What is your suggestion? I almost think having any more harmful procedures done could make the matters worse? I am not having much cramping with the bleeding. The issue was the amount of blood and size that brought me to the ER. Now my concern is ...I am on day 14 of bleeding.

Let me know your opinion! Thanks.

Answer
One answer is to switch to a higher dose of a birth control pill to see if the bleeding stops. You may not have enough estrogen and progesterone to keep the uterine lining intact.
Other options include using Misoprostol to stop the bleeding.  The dose is 800 mcg buccally.  This works to stop bleeding and push out any clots.  This could be done before the hysteroscopy.
