Hi Shan,
I had a surgical abortion of a much wanted and planned for baby after gross fetal abonormalities were detected on scan. The procedure was undertaken on the 16th March and I was a little over 19 weeks.  My husband and I have been having unprotected sex since the 2 week "no sex" time had passed!( we are hoping to get pregnant again asap) I am now getting a faint positive on HPT with 20iu sensitivity. Do you think the HCG is from the previous pregnancy or is there a chance I could be pregnant again?

Hi Sarah, though I understand your feelings and motives it is not wise to immediately plan another pregnancy.
Body and soul should be balanced and relaxed before that.
Apart from that the waiting time for sex after a D&C  of almost 20 weeks to prevent infections is two normal periods. NOT 2 weeks.
20 1u hCG is almost nothing. Most certainly this does not mean that you'r pregnant now.
Pregtests stay positive about 3 weeks after an abortion.
So I can only advise you to have sex in a safe way until your uterus is normal again.
Patience is what you need. Why the hurry anyway ?
