Abortion/sex after medical abortion

Question
How many days after taking RU486 do I have to wait until I can have sex again? I am concerned about getting an infection. Can my partner use a condom to avoid an infection or is it better to just wait it out?  I was exactly 6 weeks when I took the pill.

Answer
We allow our patients to have sex after 3 days but they use a condom for 2 weeks. The problem is not infection but preventing a new pregnancy. We start contraception within 2 days. We start the pill the day after the Misoprostol and the Nuva Ring on the third day.
