Question
i had an abortion jan 3 2011 and started birth control the same day. i took them for bout the first week or two then i stopped. (cramps)i stopped bleeding on the 16th of jan, which is a pretty normal amount of time to bleed after abortion. however, each month since has been very irregular. No period at all in feb., 6 day period first week in march, then spotted 2 weeks last week in march til first of april, then period april 14th-25th, then spotted again may 3rd-12th. i have had no bleeding or spotting since may. it is now the middle of june (14th). i have had unprotected sex but have took numerous dollar store pregnacy tests that are negative. so, since the problem is not pregnacy, is it because of my abortion 5 months ago and should i be worried

Answer
This is probably not related to the procedure.  It could be due stress.  If you are concerned about pregnancy, you should consider starting another form of reliable contraception such as the pill.  There are lower doses which may be agreeable to you.  The cramps and bleeding you had were not due to the pill.
