Abortion/abortion complications
Expert: Shan Yi Sheng - 7/9/2011
QuestionQUESTION: I have gone through an abortion more than one month ago for some complications. I don't know what kind of abortion it was. Some injection was given to me. Then a wash under general anesthesia has done. I am 29 years old Indian married woman. It was my first conception.
After abortion I was very weak and tired for some days. But regain energy. I have maintained strictly the rules, like not carrying weight, not bending etc. Normal period occurred. But nowadays I am feeling a bulging in the abdomen, specially when I go to bed at night, the bulged portion is very tight. Some times the bulge moves also. It is almost a regular phenomenon, but not an everyday thing. I am not facing any sort of pain. Sometimes I face a very light pain just above the thigh when I bent down. a sort of abdominal discomfort also remains all the time specially after having food.
Can you please help? Is this true that it is very difficult to get pregnant if first issue is aborted?
Looking forward for your answer.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Babi"

QUESTION: Dear Dr. Shan,
Thank you very much!
According to your advise I have consulted expert, I have been where I have done my abortion. They said, that as period is completed then there must not be no problem. Is the opinion is right? They did not feel anything from outside. I have told them another complain. I have inter coursed with my partner twice after abortion. First time I did not feel any problem. It was as usual. But I have done it recently, and I did not feel comfortable, it was really really painful for both of us. They told that it is nothing to do with abortion, might be due to positional problem, could happen any time, nothing to worry. As I was forcing to an ultrasound, they gave me that but according to them I should consult any GP.
I have another problem, that sometimes I feel a vaginal pain, very slight. They have told that it is somewhat a mental thing and will go. Is it so?
Looking forward for your answer.
Thank you very much!
I know I am bothering you very much!
But You there is know one to discuss this problem.
Sincerely,
babi
ANSWER: Hi dear Babi,
I am happy that the ultrasound they made did not show any serious problem.
If you do not feel comfortable, I think this is a psychological thing.
Direct your mind on different things.
Life has many beautiful aspects.
Love includes other options than sex alone.
Give yourself a break. A time out.
Use contraceptives anyway.
good luck,

AnswerHi dear Babi again,
You'r becoming a regular friend !
Periods after an abortion are not regular nor predictable for some time.
No worry, this is normal.
If you have nothing more serious to do (;-) trekking in october is OK with me.
I want to have time to go with you...but I haven't.
Good luck,
DR Shan
