Abortion/Sex after a D&C abortion

Question
I was 8 weeks pregnant and had a surgical abortion (D&C) 10 days ago.  How long do I have to wait before I have sex?  Should I be worried about getting an infection from the condom/lube or  that I will damage my uterus or cervix?

Answer
Your facility should have given you that information.  After a surgical abortion, it should be 2 weeks.  That is the standard time.  You should use condoms to prevent a new pregnancy and decrease the chance of infection.  The condom will not damage your cervix.
