Abortion/trying to conceive after 2 medical abortion

Question
QUESTION: I had 2 medical abortions, one at age 17 and one at 18 both exactly a year a part.  I’m 25 now and am trying to conceive but having issues. It’s been 7 months now since we been trying and still no hope. My first abortion went well, no problems, quick and simple. My second abortion in the other hand was not that simple. The fetus got stuck inside (as the doctor said it turn sideways and that’s why it was stuck). I am trying to conceive with a different partner now and I am getting extremely worried that I wont be able to conceive now. I did decide to schedule an appointment for Hsg maybe that would help. Anything you can advise me?

ANSWER: You are under 25 and only trying for 7 months.  You should have a basic evaluation.  Have your blood work done to test hormone levels and also have your partner get an evaluation.  He can have his sperm count checked.  Many women assume it is their fault and never have their partners get evaluated.

QUESTION: What are the chances of me being infertile?

Answer
The risks at your age are low.   Ten to 15 percent of couples in the United States are infertile. Infertility is defined as not being able to get pregnant despite having frequent, unprotected sex for at least a year.
The cause or causes of infertility can involve one or both partners. In general:

In about one-third of cases, infertility is due to a cause involving only the male partner.
In another one-third of cases, infertility is due to causes involving both the male and female.
In the remaining one-third of cases, infertility is due to a cause involving only the female.
