Question
Hi, I had an abortion Sept 12th, 2011 and I was 6wks I know it's only been 4 days but I still feel sick to my stomach and I haven't been able to take the antibiotics they gave me because of feeling sick. I haven't really had bleeding some brown spotting from time to time and sometime what looks like brown clumpy tissue. Does that mean my abortion was incomplete? Also I've taken my temp and it's been normal each time but I'm afraid since I can't take the antibiotics I will get an infection very concerned please help.

Answer
Hello, Sara,

Your question was in what is known as the question pool. I just found it.

How are you doing now? Are you OK?

Were you having morning sickness at the time? What kind of abortion did you have?

Antibiotics only deal with bacteria. Viruses and fungus and other kinds of infection aren't affected by antibiotics. If you take antibiotics, you also need to take a pro-biotic. This is because antibiotics also kill beneficial bacteria that are needed to help digest your food. A person can get very sick from taking just antibiotics, plus the fact that taking antibiotics often can cause a person's body to be infected with extremely strong bacteria that won't respond to antibiotics. A woman can pick up other kinds of infection from a surgical abortion because abortionists are careless and don't sterilize instruments properly. A woman can get a sexually transmitted disease or even HIV. HIV is caused by a virus, so antibiotics won't help.

There are some natural remedies that will help with various kinds of infection. The one I personally use the most is colloidal silver. Normally a person would take colloidal silver for ten days, but if there is a more serious infection, then nutrasilver is better because it won't turn the skin gray. It won't cause bacteria to become stronger. There are other remedies as well, such as garlic, grapefruit seed extract, etc. Each is good for certain kinds of infections. If you have an infection of some kind, I recommend you see a natural practitioner. There is also the danger you will have a silent infection. This will often cause pelvic inflammatory disease, which can have consequences for you in the future, and may prevent you from having a child when you want one.

If you had a surgical abortion, I wouldn't necessarily expect you would have much bleeding. You should go to a doctor and have him determine whether the abortion was complete. It won't be possible for anyone to tell you this over the internet. If you had a pill abortion and you put any pills in your vagina, this is very, very dangerous. This can cause a deadly infection that can kill in hours. If you are still with us, the danger of this happening may not be as great as it was to begin with. Such an infection is caused by Clostridium sordellii, so if you do go to the doctor, have him test you for it. If you do have it, you may need immediate life-saving treatment.

Please let me know how things are going, and feel free to ask any other questions you have. Take care.

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
