Hello Pat,

I did an EVIL thing which is to try and abort.I was 2 months pregnant. At that time I was in a vulnerable state of mind and took 4 pills, cytotec but they didn't work. The abortionist advised me to retry but I refused and now after seeing the baby on US I can't go through with it.I'm 4 months pregnant now and the doctor says the baby looks ok. However the abortionist told me the baby will be deformed and now I don't know what to do.I cry everyday and I pray for healing for y baby but I can't stop worrying. Please Pat advise me,I ve read articles abt women who had healthy babies and two that didn't. So far the scan of my baby shows that the body is well formed but I'm now worried about other things like the brain and that syndrome that will cause the baby not to smile. I made a horrible mistake Pat. I've never had a baby and I ws confused and scared. Now I want to keep my baby but I'm scared. I even read in your past answers that cytotec causes birth defects. Please advise thanks

There are several reasons why there is probably no serious harm to your baby. First, the pills generally don't work that late. Obviously, in your case, they didn't. Second, by 2 months, the baby's body is completely formed. Only the tiniest details need to develop. This means that any harm that was done is going to be minimal. You have a very good chance of having a baby who is completely normal. I am sure you realize that there are other reasons babies can have problems, but if one of those other reasons was present here, it wouldn't be because of what you did. No mother is guaranteed a perfect baby, and it is common for women to worry about this. But the vast majority of babies are born healthy. The inability to smile happens only when the Cytotec is taken before the muscles of the face have formed. You may even see your baby move his or her mouth in ultrasounds long before you give birth.

The abortionist wants your money. If you let him do an abortion, he gets paid. And he is also concerned about liability for having caused harm, if he gave you the pills. Don't pay any attention to him. Abortionists have a thirst for blood; they want to kill any baby they can get their hands on. They really don't care about whether the baby is normal or not. Think about it. They kill normal babies constantly. Their hearts are hard. So stay away from him.

You would benefit from some counseling. There are organizations that offer this service to women who have experienced abortion or made the attempt. My browser is acting up, and doing a search will probably cause it to crash, but if you search on Iceland and pregnancy centers, you may be able to find one near you. People who were given special responsibilities by God often had emotional and spiritual struggles. You are not by yourself. Pray also for forgiveness, and know that God has already forgiven you because you are sorry and full of regret. God won't give you more than you can bear, but will give you the strength you need.
