Answer
Hello, Jayne,

It sounds like you had a surgical abortion. Is this correct? How far along were you? What medication did you insert? Did you take something by mouth, and if so, what? Your statement that you took antibiotics threw me for a loop, because antibiotics work against bacteria, and yeast is not a bacterium. I will have to do some more research when you answer my questions, so please let me know.

Unfortunately abortion itself causes damage, all kinds of damage. You are now more more susceptible to auto-immune disease, and if this is a first pregnancy in particular, your chance of getting breast cancer has increased. If you had a surgical abortion, your chance of having a baby with a severe birth defect in the future has been increased significantly. A woman often GETS an infection from the abortion itself. It is known that most abortionists in the United States do not clean or sterilize their instruments properly, so a woman can even get a sexually transmitted disease from a previous client. While it may be the case that you already had a yeast infection, you could have picked up something else as well, from the abortion. There are also many other kinds of damage an abortion can cause. Entire books have been written about this.

A bad odor tends to indicate there is an infection. Whatever treatment you started hasn't cured it, at least not yet.

Please let me know the answers to my questions, and I'll tell you more. Thank you.

Expertise

I can help women with the consideration of their decision, and with resources, and I can share my own experiences as the mother of seven and grandmother of eleven. My approach is to show love and concern, and help women work through the issues, emotional, spiritual, practical. I also help women deal with boyfriend and family issues. I am not a doctor, but I have done extensive medical research, so I may be able to help with information. I am female. When you write, if you are or were pregnant, please tell me how far along you were or are, and if you have had an abortion, please tell me what kind. Thank you.

Experience

I have been working with women who are considering abortion for several years. I also work with women who have had abortions. Our family has also experienced adoption, so I can talk about that as well.

Education/Credentials
I am mostly self-taught. I also studied midwifery for awhile. I have spent years doing research on this topic. In fact, I have been doing research and working in this area since the early 1970's. I have been helping women online for a few years, under the guidance of a woman who was formally training in counseling.
