hey,i was 5 weeks pregnant when i went for an abortion through suction. This is the third week since the abortion and i hav'nt had my periods back. Also i made a urine test for pregnancy and it turned out possitve.i'm scared cus i have not had sex since the abortion.Besides i experience nausea dizziness and sometimes vomitting i do not know if it is normal. Thanks

If you are having issues after an abortion procedure, you should contact your abortion provider. They should be able to offer you a follow-up appointment.

The pregnancy hormone can remain in your system for up to 4 weeks after an abortion, so the fact that you had a positive test isn't a clear indication of any problem. Continuing pregnancy symptoms are not normal, though, so if that is happening, you should be seen for follow-up care as soon as possible.

We are a group of family doctors who provide abortion care for over a decade. We can answer any health or medical related questions about early abortion, including the aspiration procedure, the abortion pill (RU486), or surgical abortion. We run a practice called Early Options, located in New York City: http://www.EarlyAbortionOptions.com. The practice is dedicated to making early abortion part of mainstream medical care. There are other family doctors around the United States who practice a similar approach to early abortion care: see http://www.EarlyAbortion.com. Please do not ask "private" questions so that other women can learn from your experience. Please tell me what country you are from so that we can better help you.
