Question
Hi

I am 24 years old and have been through 3 surgical abortions.  I was allot younger and very scared at the time and thought it was the best thing to do.
I have been with my boyfriend for 6 years and he has been through the whole ordeal with me, we are now stable and ready to start a family but I am worried that I can no longer fall pregnant.  I was on the implonon for 3 years, and removed it 2 months ago, I have had my period twice now.  Please let me know if you have any information.

Hi Emily,
I'm not a medical professional so I just wanted to let you know that. Do you have a personal physician that you can consult? There is a possibility that you could have problems with getting pregnant or be sterile after abortion. I don't say that to worry you because sometimes a woman has no problems getting pregnant. I just can't diagnose that by email. I presume implonon is a birth control method but haven't heard of it. You may have to get back on a regular cycle in order to get straightened out. It could possibly take several months to get pregnant. Are you thinking of getting married and starting your family? Almost 22 years of on-the-job training onsite at abortion clinics and volunteering at pregnancy resource centers. Sonogram training and Post Abortion Counseling Training. Have done research with hundreds of women for almost 23 years regarding abortion, pregnancy and post-abortion healing.
